1. My Family Egg Carton Bunnies
‘My Family Egg Carton Bunnies‘ by Dimity is one for the older kids or a creative art project for the entire family. Offer as little or as much guidance as your kids may need.
You could adapt this activity by drawing the bunny outline and allowing younger children to colour in, paint or collage.
2. Naturally Dyed Eggs
A favourite activity every year is creating beautifully dyed eggs. We loved these colours via @l.michel, who dyed her eggs naturally using foods like avocado.
Other natural and botanical dye options include shredded beetroots, onion skins, turmeric, cabbage, coffee and more.
3. Easter Nature Weaving
Another excellent nature craft idea (by @raisinglittlejess) that is sustainable, beautiful and encourages fine motor development and hand-eye coordination.
Simply hole punch around a cut-out egg and add string or elastic for your little one to weave nature items through.
4. Easter Playdough
Nothing beats a fresh batch of play dough for the play-loving family.
We love this open-ended experience full of possibilities, and we couldn’t move past this beautiful invitation to play by Meishaclaire.
Keep your Easter crafting simple with some nature items, egg cutters and pastel-dyed play dough.
5. Carrot Craft
These adorable DIY carrots by @kristycrafts are crafted using pipe cleaners and orange-toned wool. We love how simple yet unique this idea is.
Form a carrot shape using several pipe cleaners and encourage your child to slowly wrap the yarn around the pipe cleaners, adding more width to the top.
6. Bunny Stamp
What a cute way to use up old toilet paper rolls. We love craft ideas that encourage using what you already have, and this Easter craft idea by Little Boho and Posh does exactly that.
Shape three toilet rolls to form a head and bunny ears, dip them in paint and print them onto the paper of choice (I love this kraft paper look).
7. Double Sided Tape Bunny
Another unique idea to try this Easter. Studio Rosie created these beautiful bunnies using card stock, double-sided tape and various materials to decorate.
Depending on your preference, you could also include a range of colours, textures, and/or nature items for your children to explore.
8. Floral Egg Decorating with Tattoos
A quick yet delicate take on the traditional Easter egg decorating by @herwildmeadows. This idea is genius for those who want a mess-free approach to craft this year. It’s as simple as floral temporary tattoos applied to eggs of choice!
I can’t help but imagine my truck-loving toddler holding little transport eggs (ok, less delicate..)
The fun part is you can do it however you want, and it’s easy and mess-free.
You’re welcome.
9. Frozen Nature Eggs
Cool down this Easter with nature-filled frozen eggs inspired by Little Wild and Green. If you, too, have a nature lover, this is an excellent experience with your family over Easter.
The best part? You get three activities out of it. First, take your family on a nature walk to gather beautiful items to fill your eggs before freezing. Second, allow your child to carefully peel back the eggshell (when you drink your coffee hot) and enjoy your frozen eggs!
Add pipettes with warm water, salt, scoops, or coloured paints.
10. Nature Bunny Ears
I LOVE this take on the nature contact craft. Beautifully bunny ears full of blooms by @liddierowl.
Create your frame using cardboard(bunny ears, easter egg, chick) and cover it with contact, sticky side up. Let your little ones gather nature items of choice and stick them onto the contact backing.
11. Pressed Flower Eggs
It wouldn’t be an Easter craft post without several egg decorating ideas. Another nature-inspired Easter idea, this time by @littlepinelearners. We adore the simplicity of this idea and know how much fun it would be to go on a nature hunt and press your flowers before decorating your eggs. You can discover more on the Little Pine Learners Blog.
